As Trustees of the now lapsed College Pension Scheme we need to consider the attached letter from the University Superannuation office. I am concerned that we have been informed so late in the day that four of our staff are not eligible for OSPS and that we should apply for them to be admitted to USS.
With my Bursar's hat on I have interviewed the individuals concerned and all are prepared to take membership of USS. I have offered to pay the difference in the employee's contribution between the two schemes which amounts to 1.35% (6.35% USS - 5% OSPS) so that there is no sense of injustice.
I would like to action this matter as soon as possible. I suggest a brief meeting may be useful if we have any outstanding questions. Otherwise written confirmation will be adequate.
