Dear Roger

Further to the outcome of the meetings of 13 January 2003 I feel that certain points need to be reiterated.

• By your actions you have cast doubts as to my integrity and honesty. Protocol was not followed and you had no evidence that anything was "amiss", merely that you felt I had acted out of character.

• Those people who are aware of the actions taken i.e. my staff, Fellows' Secretary, IT Manager, the Warden, Deputy Bursar and all those who your staff may have conveyed this to, need to know that I am totally exonerated.

• You made a statement that this was for my own good. I totally repudiate that. You have caused untold anxiety and distress to my wife at a time when she is very vulnerable so soon after the death of her mother.

• I do realise that it is my right to invoke a formal grievance procedure but at this stage I am prepared to accept an apology from you for compromising my credibility. I would also like you to give me assurance that this sort of action will never take place without my knowledge.
